REMOVAL AND STARTER INSTALLATION

Removal
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To disconnect a wire of weight of the accumulator.
2. To lift and fix in front of the car.
3. To disconnect from a starter the main wire of power supplies, and also an electric wire from the electromagnetic switch of a starter.
4. To unscrew three bolts of fastening and to take a starter from below the car.



Installation

For starter installation it is necessary to execute actions in return classic ford parts sequence in relation to removal process.

DISMANTLING AND STARTER ASSEMBLAGE

For dismantling and assemblage of a starter after its removal from the car it is necessary to take advantage of drawings: Starters Lucas, Starters Cajavec and Nippondenso and Starters Bosch on which correct used ford parts positions of each detail are presented.

After starter dismantling it is necessary to check up:

– A condition of brushes, their deterioration, and also freedom of moving of brushes in ford parts on line;
– Force of a clip and position of springs of brushes;
– A kind of a collector which should be cleared a rag moistened in gasoline or, and прошлифовать a fine-grained emery paper;
– A condition of plugs of self-greased bearings; in case ord thunderbird performance parts of need replacements should be lowered new plugs not less, than for 20 minutes in engine oil (viscosity SAE 30 or 40) before their installation in a starter.

PERFORMANCE PARTS ORDER
1. To insert the generator, to screw up bolts of its fastening and to tighten their hand.
2. To connect and fix a socket of multicontact connection of wires behind the generator.
3. To establish and pull wedges a belt (1 – a bolt of the tension device, And – a belt deflection (And = 10 mm)).
4. To tighten a bolt of adjustment of a tightness, then a forward bolt of the bottom fastening and, at last, a back bolt of the bottom fastening of the generator.
5. To connect a weight wire to the accumulator.
6. To check up a tension wedges a belt. In case of need to weaken bolts of fastening of the generator, to pull a belt and again to tighten bolts, since a bolt of adjustment of a tightness, and then a bolt of forward and back fastening of the generator.

Removal

1. To disconnect a wire of weight from the accumulator, and also a socket of multicontact connection behind the generator (after removal of a safety fastener).
2. To weaken bolts of fastening of the generator.
3. To turn the generator to the engine and to remove wedges a belt from a generator pulley.
4. To unscrew bolts of fastening and to take the generator.
